The process of identifying patients for clinical trials takes on average 17 hours per patient. In many cases, this means that the patient identification process in any given clinical trial can cost millions. 

LLMs can accelerate the process by processing clinical notes, but because of the unique language and shorthand used in clinical  notes, this method is unreliable.

The Solution

  • Scalable Data Architecture: A robust, scalable architecture on Databricks to process unstructured clinical notes efficiently.
  • LLM Fine-Tuning: A healthcare-specific LLM that will unlock precise recognition of patterns, terminology, and insights within clinical notes.

Secure Data Governance: implementation of comprehensive data governance and security using Unity Catalog to ensure compliance and protect sensitive health data.
